Kenneth A. Himmel, the president and CEO of Related Urban, a developer of mixed-use properties, is the featured speaker at Palm Beach State College’s fall commencement for more than 1,800 graduates Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.
Himmel has been recognized for developing vibrant urban destinations such as The Square in West Palm Beach. He lives in Palm Beach, is a member of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and serves on the board of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
In addition to acknowledging the achievements of the graduates, PBSC will bestow an honorary degree upon entrepreneur and philanthropist George T. Elmore, the founder and president of Hardrives, a prominent heavy/highway contractor based in Delray Beach. Elmore has served as a member of the PBSC Foundation board since 2011 and has been a dedicated donor to Palm Beach State College for over 30 years.
The ceremony, marking the culmination of the college’s 90th anniversary year, will be livestreamed on the PBSC website and will feature a fireworks display. Visit www.palmbeachstate.edu/graduation for more information.
