Mounts Botanical Gardens of Palm Beach County is celebrating this festive season with its latest display, Tropical Holiday Trees at Mounts. The display showcases three trees 8 to 15 feet tall that are crafted by the Mounts horticulture team with bromeliads, orchids and other tropical botanicals.
In addition, Mounts’ beloved “Stickwork” sculpture, created by artist Patrick Dougherty, has been embellished with holiday decorations. More of Dougherty’s work can be viewed here.

“Both of these seasonal exhibits … are perfect backdrops for family holiday photos,” says the director and curator of Mounts, Rochelle Wolberg, adding that the gift shop is offering new holiday merchandise. “Mounts Botanical Garden is very proud to be exhibiting this distinguished artist’s final large-scale ‘Stickwork’ installation, which he constructed from 30,000 pounds of live willow branches.”
Just a few minutes from downtown West Palm Beach, Mounts provides a tropical escape from the city. Visitors can explore the 20-acre paradise and see 25 garden areas containing more than 6,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants, including Florida natives, exotic and tropical fruit trees, herbs, palms, roses, cacti, and bromeliads.
The Tropical Holiday Trees display can be seen through Dec. 31 during regular garden hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., last entry at 3. Tickets are available at the gate or online. Admission is free for Mounts members and children under age 6 years old; $15 for nonmember adults; $12 for those 65 and older, college students, and military members with ID; and $7 for children 6 to 17. Only credit cards are accepted at the entrance and in the gift shop. Mounts will be closed Dec. 24 and 25.
