Taste of The Square fights cancer at inaugural event

The Square will be transformed tonight, Oct. 20, into a gastronomic paradise filled with delicious food and drinks, all for a great cause. The inaugural Taste of The Square will feature some of South Florida’s favorite bites, along with live music and a pop-up bar on the lawn.

The sold out event will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m., and event attendees can enjoy samples from Angie’s Epicurean, BurgerFi, City Pizza, El Camino, Galley, II Bellagio, Planta, Sloan’s, Sweetgreen, Taqueria Bonitas, The Salty Donut and True Food Kitchen.

“The lineup of appetizers, entrees and desserts from the participating restaurants is truly outstanding,” says Sasha Jozefczyk, the director of marketing and experience at Related Cos. “From True Food Kitchen’s herb hummus to Galley’s pork belly tots and Sloan’s mom’s apple pie scoop with warm caramel fudge, there will be something for everyone.”

Related Cos. is hosting the event, and all of the money raised through tickets will go to the Promise Fund of Florida, a nonprofit fighting to end late-stage deaths from breast and cervical cancer.

Related Southeast, a locally based, global real estate and lifestyle company that strives “to transform urban life by creating innovative neighborhoods and supporting nurturing communities,” has been at the forefront of transforming downtown West Palm Beach.

The pop-up bar will be hosted by True Food Kitchen and will serve a signature refresher drink and craft cocktail, along with beer and wine. Matt Largent, the West Palm Beach general manager of True Food Kitchen, said: “We’re honored to be part of Taste of The Square. … We believe that food should make you feel better, and it’s our philosophy to be involved and give back to the community in any way we can. We look forward to helping raise funds alongside event-goers and having an overall great time with music, food and drinks.”

The newest addition to The Square is The Salty, which opened in August. It will offer doughnuts at check-in.

“The Square has become synonymous with exceptional culinary experiences, bringing nationally and regionally celebrated chefs into West Palm Beach,” Jozefczyk says. “Now, with our debut Taste of The Square event, we invite everyone to experience exclusively prepared dishes from a dozen of our restaurants in one evening, all while benefiting a great cause.”

Because of high demand, the event is sold out. For more information visit www.thesquarewestpalm.com/taste.
