Amrit Ocean Resort to host brain-health cooking experience with Dr. Uma Naidoo

Amrit Ocean Resort is hosting a specialty wellness event focused on nutrition and mental health when it presents the “Mood Food Cooking Experience” on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event will take place in the resort’s Penthouse and will be led by Dr. Uma Naidoo, a Harvard-trained nutritional psychiatrist, professional chef and nutritional biologist, and the author of the national best-selling book This Is Your Brain on Food. The evening is designed as an intimate, hands-on cooking class and dinner exploring the relationship between food, brain health, mental wellness and longevity.

During the immersive experience, participants will prepare and share a curated menu centered on what Naidoo describes as “Mood Food,” a philosophy that combines evidence-based nutrition with lifestyle medicine and culinary techniques.

Throughout the evening, Naidoo will discuss how dietary choices can influence mental health and highlight foods that may play a role in managing conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, dementia, brain fog, insomnia, fatigue, bipolar disorder and low libido. Biodynamic wines will be served during both the cooking and dining portions of the program.

The menu for the evening includes Dr. Naidoo’s Calm Green Salad, Korean-inspired tofu, salmon or chicken, MediterrAsian-inspired eggplant, and a calm chocolate avocado mousse.

Tickets are $150 per person and include the cooking experience, dinner, a copy of This Is Your Brain on Food, a Mood Food Mixers apron and valet parking. Space is limited, and advance reservations are required.
