Bainbridge Cos. emerged in 1997 as local multifamily housing developers with only four employees, working out of a single office in Wellington. Fast-forward to 2023, and its footprint in the luxury apartment market stretches across the South.
Bainbridge has additional offices in Florida (Orlando and Tampa), North Carolina (Raleigh and Charlotte), Texas (Dallas and Austin), Georgia (Atlanta), Maryland (Bethesda) and Washington, D.C.
Bainbridge recently hired two executives to keep up with its surging growth. Wellington-based Heidi Jehlicka is the new vice president of marketing, and Austin-based Krista Washbourne is the new vice president of learning and development.

Jehlicka has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, most recently as vice president of operations at Orbit Investments. She previously held leadership roles at Southern Land, Advenir Living and Bainbridge itself, where she was senior vice president of marketing and employee development.
Washbourne has more than 20 years of experience in multifamily and organizational development. In addition to roles with real estate companies Lincoln Property, Gables Residential and JPI/Greystar, she worked with Interplay Learning, a high-growth VR/simulation training startup.
Both new vice presidents are reinforcing a company that secured more than $2 billion in transactions last year, has more than 650 national associates, and has developed and acquired more than 43,000 rental homes, representing $7.8 billion in transactions, since planting its seeds in Wellington a quarter-century ago.
