Boca Helping Hands rolls the dice for Monopoly & Casino Night

The glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties take center stage at the Monopoly & Casino Night gala Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club in Boca Raton. Boca Helping Hands invites guests to don flapper dresses, feathered headbands and pinstripe suits for a night of fun and philanthropy.

Inspired by the opulence of the Jazz Age, this year’s gala promises Gatsby-style dazzle with gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a lavish dinner, casino games and live music perfect to dance the Charleston. The event also offers a Chance Wall, live and silent auctions, and the signature Monopoly championship.

The Monopoly tournament is more than a playful addition; it’s a cornerstone of the gala, first introduced by Boca Helping Hands board President Gary Peters, a two-time national Monopoly champion. What began as a creative fundraiser has grown into one of the nonprofit’s most anticipated and elegant events while honoring its board game roots.

VIP tournament qualifiers competed April 2 for spots in the championship game at the gala.

Chairing the event are Yvette and Chris Palermo and Jessica and Alex Price, who lead a committee of more than 20 advocates and philanthropists. “We’re absolutely jazzed to co-chair this 1920s-themed evening,” the couples said in a press release. “After two years on the committee, we’re stepping into the spotlight to roll the dice, raise funds and celebrate in true Roaring Twenties style.”

Proceeds from the gala support Boca Helping Hands’ essential programs, including hunger relief, job training, health care, emergency financial assistance, child care and weekend meals for children in Palm Beach County. Each year, Boca Helping Hands serves nearly 35,000 people in South Florida.
