Brightline has unveiled the Freedom Express, a 10-coach passenger train wrapped in a sweeping, patriotic design created in partnership with America250, the congressionally established organization leading the nation's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. From the Revolutionary War to the Moon landing, the train's exterior transforms each coach into a chapter of American history.

The Freedom Express made its inaugural run on Feb. 16, traveling from Orlando to Miami. The train will remain in regular rotation through July 2026.

The design spans ten historic moments, each rendered in imagery across the length of the train. Together they form a rolling chronicle of the American experience.

  • The Signing of the Declaration of Independence: In 1776, the signing established the United States as a sovereign nation.

  • Washington Crossing the Delaware: Washington’s 1776 crossing boosted morale and marked a turning point in the Revolutionary War.

  • Lincoln at Gettysburg: In 1863, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address redefined the nation’s commitment to equality and democracy.

  • Golden Spike Ceremony: The 1869 ceremony marked the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, uniting the country coast to coast.

  • Statue of Liberty: Dedicated in 1886, the statue became an enduring symbol of freedom and opportunity.

  • Ellis Island Immigration: Between 1892 and 1954, Ellis Island welcomed millions of immigrants who helped shape the nation’s identity.

  • The Wright Brothers’ First Flight: In 1903, the Wright brothers achieved the first powered flight, placing the United States at the forefront of aviation.

  • Flag Raising at Iwo Jima: The 1945 moment became a powerful symbol of sacrifice and victory during World War II.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lincoln Memorial: Dr. King’s 1963 speech became a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

  • One Small Step, One Giant Leap: In 1969, Apollo 11 made the United States the first nation to land humans on the Moon.

"America's 250th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the moments that have shaped our nation and the people who continue to move it forward," said Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250. "Brightline's Freedom Express offers a compelling way to share that history with communities across Florida, and we're proud to partner with them to commemorate this milestone."

For Brightline, the train carries a significance that goes beyond aesthetics.

"Brightline is honored to help lead this national celebration and mark a pivotal moment in how America connects and moves," said Patrick Goddard, CEO of Brightline Florida. "This is one of the most meaningful and visually powerful train wraps yet, and we're proud to share it with communities across the state of Florida."
