The inaugural Creative Arts and Culture Fest celebrates local creativity Saturday, Aug. 9, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Creative Arts School at Old School Square at 51 Swinton Ave. in downtown Delray Beach.
The Creative Arts School presents the free community event in partnership with a variety of cultural organizations and community groups. Designed to highlight the rich artistic talent and cultural diversity of Delray Beach, the festival offers hands-on activities, live performances and interactive exhibits for all ages.
Live performances include music and dance, painting demonstrations, and stand-up comedy. Crafts and hands-on art experiences such as painting tropical leaves encourage attendees’ creativity and self-expression.
The Delray Beach Police Department is providing free ice cream, while other partners offer creative stations and cultural exhibits.
Participating organizations include the Delray Beach Children’s Garden, Delray Beach Library, Arts Warehouse, Arts Garage, Spady Museum, Sandoway Discovery Center, Visual Adjectives, Milagro Center, Diamonds and Pearls Dance Team, Pompey Park, and Delray Beach Divas.
The festival is part of the city’s effort to foster community connections through accessible arts programming and cultural enrichment. The event aims to bring city residents and visitors together to celebrate the talents and traditions that make Delray Beach special.
