The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County presents a new solo exhibition featuring the work of Lake Worth Beach-based artist Asandra.
Titled Shekinah: The Inner Dwelling Place, the exhibition explores themes of spirituality, balance and the presence of the sacred through a series of vibrant, large-scale works. The exhibition will be on view May 15 through June 26 in the Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery at the Council’s headquarters.
Asandra’s work draws inspiration from sacred cultures, blending pattern, symbol, geometry and color in compositions that transform painted panels into contemplative spaces. Using acrylic on wood and large-scale stamps, she creates layered visual narratives that invite viewers to reflect on the connection between inner stillness and engagement with the world.

“Shekinah is the English transliteration of a Hebrew word and denotes the presence of the sacred in a place,” Asandra said in a statement. “It is the connection to both the sacred as well as a literal home. To find our way in the current state of the world, we need not retreat from it but exist within it without losing our equilibrium.”
The artist’s work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows across the country, including in New York, Washington, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina and California. Her pieces are also included in collections at major hotel brands such as Marriott and The Omni.
Jessica Ransom, the Council’s director of artist services, said the exhibition is designed to offer a calming and reflective experience for visitors.
“Asandra’s work will bring a sense of calm and a meditative spirit to the gallery,”

Ransom said. “It creates a space where visitors can pause and reconnect in the moment.”
The exhibition is free and open to the public at the Council’s downtown Lake Worth Beach location, 601 Lake Ave. An opening reception will be held May 14 from 5 to 7 p.m., with guests encouraged to RSVP in advance.
The exhibition is part of the Cultural Council’s 2025–2026 season, supported by the Tourist Development Council, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, the Florida Division of Arts & Culture and Florida Weekly.
The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County serves as the official support agency for arts and culture in the region, presenting year-round exhibitions and programming that highlight artists who live or work in Palm Beach County.
