The International Gay Polo Tournament is returning to South Florida from April 4 to 6 at a new location, Wellington’s Patagones Polo Club.

The Gay Polo League event fosters an atmosphere of unity, inclusivity and haute couture with a mission to ignite and embolden lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people within sports and beyond.

Returning as the leading sponsor is Lexus.

“While this event is a fun and competitive one, it is the desire for equality that pushes us to do more each year,” says Chip McKenney, the founder of the Gay Polo League. “We are excited about the new components this year … and are forever grateful for the unwavering commitment of Lexus for doing all they can do to enact change.”

The dynamic weekend begins with the invitation-only Players Welcome Reception on Thursday, April 4. The next day, the Polotini Wigstock affair takes center stage with cocktails, light bites, a themed wig contest and an enthralling drag performance.

On Saturday, April 6, players from across the globe vie in the Senator’s Cup and the Founder’s Cup, while spectators and friends are encouraged to join the tailgate competition on the polo field. Prizes include Best in Show, Best Cuisine, Best Cocktail, Best Single Tailgate and Best Multiple Tailgate.

The GPL contributes funds raised through this premier event to bolster LGBTQ+ organizations.
