Florida Atlantic University President Adam Hasner and his wife, Jillian Hasner, former statewide CEO of Take Stock in Children, are serving as the honorary chairs for Nonprofits First’s 10th annual Hats Off Nonprofit Awards (HONA), to be held Oct. 15 at the Kravis Center’s Cohen Pavilion.

HONA celebrates Palm Beach County nonprofit organizations, professionals and volunteers making a difference. A perennial sell-out, the event serves as Nonprofits First’s signature fundraiser, supporting nonprofit education, accreditation and leadership development.

“Adam and Jillian Hasner exemplify the spirit of service, leadership and community investment that HONA was created to celebrate,” Nonprofits First CEO and President Trudy Crowetz says. “Their collective commitment to education, public service and nonprofit causes has had a lasting impact, and we are honored to recognize their leadership during this milestone year.”

Adam Hasner’s commitment to the nonprofit sector stretches back to his tenure in the Florida Legislature and continues at FAU, where he has championed one of the state’s most respected nonprofit management programs alongside a new Presidential Mentorship and Career Internship Initiative that is opening doors for the next generation of leaders.

As statewide CEO of Take Stock in Children, Jillian Hasner worked to dismantle barriers to educational opportunity and help young Floridians build futures they might not have imagined possible.

As honorary chairs, the Hasners are lending their voices to a celebration that is about more than awards. HONA shines a light on the people and organizations doing the hard work of holding communities together.

Diane Smith of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Peter Cruise of Florida Atlantic University are co-chairing the event host committee, and Bill Bone of Bill Bone Law Group will again emcee.
