The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is offering a chance to try it all during a free National Dance Day celebration Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Dancers of all ages, abilities and experience levels are welcome.

The day begins with a community marketplace at 11 a.m., followed by a group welcome and warmup at 11:30 a.m. CBS 12 anchor Sam Kerrigan is the emcee.

Beginning at 12:15 p.m., participants can choose from a variety of workshops to get newcomers moving and give experienced dancers an opportunity to explore new styles. The schedule includes hip-hop, theater dance, ballroom and African dance, along with an open-level ballet class.

Later sessions will feature country fusion line dancing, jazz funk and contemporary dance. A Kids Zone will remain open from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The celebration will conclude with the National Dance Day official routine from 3:15 to 4 p.m., giving participants a chance to bring together the moves, energy and community spirit of the afternoon.

No formal dance background is needed.

Admission and parking in the Kravis Center garage are free. Registration is required but does not guarantee admission to a particular workshop, so participants should arrive early for the classes they want.
