Morikami Museum to host Sunset Stroll featuring cosplay, music and Japanese culture

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens will invite visitors to experience Japanese culture after hours during its next Sunset Stroll on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The evening event will feature live entertainment, cultural performances, Asian-inspired cuisine and the opportunity to explore the museum's gardens at sunset.
A highlight of the evening will be a cosplay fashion show hosted by Florida Supercon, where participants will showcase elaborate costumes inspired by popular characters. Guests can enjoy the creativity and craftsmanship of cosplay as costumed participants take to the runway.

Live entertainment will include energetic taiko drumming by Fushu Daiko and a traditional koto performance by Emiko Koto.
Guests can also sample a variety of Asian-inspired food and beverages from Cornell Café, Niigata Sake, Kaminari Ramen and Akiko-ya Japanese Sweets, featuring artistic Japanese confections.
Admission is $12 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 to 17, and free for children age 5 and younger.
Organizers note that space is limited, and tickets will not be available at the door.
The event will be held rain or shine.
