The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is again shining a spotlight on the region’s thriving arts and culture scene this May with the return of MOSAIC — Month of Shows, Art, Ideas and Culture — alongside the Palm Beach County Open Studios weekend.
Now in its eighth year, MOSAIC provides special offers and experiences at cultural attractions across The Palm Beaches.
“MOSAIC has become a cherished tradition for us each year,” says Dave Lawrence, the president and CEO of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. “It showcases our incredible cultural organizations, making them even more accessible, and invites both residents and visitors to celebrate the creative spirit that defines our community.”
Adding a playful twist, MOSAIC this year features collectible lapel pins and watercolor activity cards inspired by Jeanne Martin’s artwork “Our County TOONS” at select attractions.
Complementing the monthlong festivities is the third annual Palm Beach County Open Studios on May 17 and 18, when more than 100 artists open their studio doors to the public. Visitors can explore media ranging from oil paintings and ceramics to sculpture, woodworking and wearable art and can purchase works directly from the artists.
Participating locations include Lighthouse ArtCenter, The Peach, TBA Tattoos and the Cultural Council’s headquarters, where Martin will exhibit her work.
“Open Studios provides a unique and meaningful connection between artists and the community,” Lawrence says. “It offers rare insight into the creative process and builds lasting relationships that strengthen our region’s cultural fabric.”
MOSAIC’s highlights include:
• 561 Music Festival — Save 25% on VIP tickets to enjoy 20 bands across two stages in West Palm Beach on May 3.
• Norton Museum of Art — A “buy one, get one” admission deal provides access to such exhibitions as “Artists’ Jewelry: From Cubism to Pop” and “Blur/Obscure/Distort.”
• Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens — Receive $2 off admission.
• Loggerhead Marinelife Center — BOGO discounts on tours and 15% off in the gift shop.
