Mounts Botanical Garden celebrates American Wetlands Month and Mother’s Day

Mounts Botanical Garden is marking American Wetlands Month and Mother’s Day among its array of workshops, mindful activities, garden tours and other events in May.
The offerings range from hands-on art therapy and horticultural tours to yoga, tai chi and forest bathing.
Prescribed Fire: Reigniting the Spark
Saturday, May 10, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Harper Carroll, the environmental program supervisor for Palm Beach County, offers a talk on the history, science and ecological value of prescribed fire. Open to ages 9 and up, with free admission for ages 9 to 17.
Mother’s Day at the Garden
Sunday, May 11
Moms receive free admission for a day of tranquility, strolls through lush landscapes and family bonding.
Petals & Paradise: A Plumeria Tour and Presentation
Friday, May 16, 10 a.m. to noon
Expert horticulturist Joel Crippen leads a guided tour celebrating the variety of plumeria blooms. Learn about the cultivation, care and hybridization of the tropical plant.
Terrarium Art With Omar Ananais
Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Blending mindfulness and creativity, this immersive workshop allows participants to craft custom terrariums with provided materials. Bring a glass vessel and explore your inner artist with guidance from art therapist Omar Ananais. Terrariums will be available for purchase.

“Ribbit the Exhibit II,” Through May 26
“Ribbit the Exhibit II” is a whimsical collection of 18 larger-than-life frog sculptures by Andy Cobb, on display throughout the garden.
Mounts Botanical Garden is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults; $18 for seniors, students and military with ID; $13 for ages 6 to 17; and free for those under 6, Mounts members and participants in the RAP (Reciprocal Admission Program).
