Whether a garden needs a rare orchid, a flowering tree or a few butterfly-friendly plants, shoppers Mounts Botanical Garden will have plenty of options at its Fall Plant Sale & Family Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3 and 4, at the garden at 531 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach.
The event will bring together more than 70 specialty growers, horticultural organizations and artisan vendors offering plants suited to nearly every space and level of gardening experience.
Options include orchids, tropical shrubs, native plants, herbs, succulents, cacti, bonsai, fruit trees, and butterfly and pollinator favorites. Rare, exotic and hard-to-find varieties will be available.
Participating vendors and organizations include Lady Vanda Orchids, Greenroots Natives, Palm Beach Rare Fruit Council, Bromeliad Society of the Palm Beaches, Bonsai Society of the Palm Beaches and African Violet Society of the Palm Beaches.
Expert growers will be available to answer questions and help select plants that can thrive in South Florida’s climate, so the sale will be an opportunity not only to shop, but also to learn about plant care, landscaping and the region’s growing conditions.
Garden accessories, planters, baskets, jewelry, fine crafts and other items also will be sold. Visitors can browse additional plants and gardening finds in the Mounts Gift Shop and Nursery.
Families can enjoy arts and crafts, games, and live music, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; Mounts members may enter at 8 a.m. Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is $20 for adults; $18 for seniors 65 and older, college students and military personnel with identification; and $13 for children ages 6 to 17. Admission is free for Mounts members and children younger than 6.
Tickets and additional information are available through the event’s website.
