The Okeeheelee Nature Center, nestled within Okeeheelee Park at 7715 Forest Hill Blvd., offers a wide range of educational and interactive programs in May. Many of the programs are free and open to families, while others require registration and a nominal fee.
Participants can sign up by visiting www.pbcparks.com, selecting “Online Services” and clicking “Register/Pay for Program.” Unless otherwise noted, advance registration is required, and participants must sign a Program Participation Form before an event.
Weekly Highlights
Live animal feedings are held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:30 p.m., and alligator feedings are held Saturday at 1 p.m. Reservations are not required.

Crocodilians as Bioindicators

Aaron Chimelis of the University of Florida’s Croc Docs Lab discusses how crocodilians serve as vital indicators of ecosystem health and shares insights into Everglades restoration efforts.
Florida Trail Association Meeting
