The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department marked the completion of Canyon District Park Phase II with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 8.
Phase II enhancements include baseball and softball fields, a destination accessible playground, sand volleyball courts, batting cages, pavilions with shade structures, a concession area, public restrooms and a sports-themed public art installation. These additions complement existing park features and establish the site as a premier recreational destination in Palm Beach County.
"This expansion reflects a thoughtful approach to creating spaces that bring people together and enhance everyday life," said Jennifer Cirillo, director of Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation. "Canyon District Park Phase II was designed with care, offering opportunities for healthy, happy living and lasting community experiences."
Palm Beach County Administrator Joe Abruzzo emphasized the value of the project to the community.
"This is what smart investment looks like," Abruzzo said. "By connecting residents to our parks, we're delivering real value to the community, promoting active living, reducing stress, strengthening connections and facilitating long-term wellness in a healthy environment for all ages."
Canyon District Park is located at 8788 Senator Joe Abruzzo Avenue, west of Boynton Beach.
