One of Palm Beach County’s most enduring cultural venues is inviting the public to step inside for a behind-the-scenes celebration. The Duncan Theatre at Palm Beach State College will host its Discover Duncan Theatre Open House on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering residents a free afternoon of live performances, prizes, and previews of the upcoming season.
For more than 30 years, the Duncan Theatre has been a cornerstone of the county’s performing arts scene, showcasing acclaimed national acts in dance, music, and theater while also providing a platform for student and emerging performers. The open house aims to highlight that dual role — honoring the theatre’s legacy while welcoming a new generation of arts enthusiasts.
Guests will be treated to a wide-ranging lineup of student performances, including sets by the PBSC Concert Band and Jazz Ensembles, the PBSC Concert Choir, and comedic sketches from the PBSC Improv Troupe. Visitors will also get a sneak preview of the college theatre department’s upcoming stage production.
Beyond the performances, attendees can explore the theatre itself, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in ticket giveaways and prize drawings. Staff will also preview the 2025–26 season, which features a mix of international dance companies, touring musicians, and theatrical productions.
“The Duncan Theatre has always been where great dance, music, and theatre come alive,” says Palm Beach State College President Ava L. Parker, JD. “This event is our way of opening our doors wide to the community — not only to celebrate the arts, but to experience them through the incredible talent of our very own students.”
The event is free and open to all ages.
