PBSC to host Public Safety Job Fair with more than 40 agencies

Individuals interested in careers in law enforcement, emergency services, communications and public safety will have the opportunity to connect directly with hiring agencies during Palm Beach State College’s annual Public Safety Job Fair on June 11.

The statewide recruitment event will bring together more than 40 local, state and federal agencies actively seeking candidates for a variety of high-demand public safety positions. Representatives from law enforcement agencies, fire rescue departments, emergency medical service providers, 911 communications centers and military organizations will be available to discuss career opportunities, training requirements and hiring pathways.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Elisabeth W. Erling Gymnasium on Palm Beach State College’s Lake Worth campus, located at 4200 Congress Ave. Veterans and Palm Beach State College students will receive early access from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Participating employers include local police departments and sheriff’s offices, fire rescue agencies, EMS providers and 911 communications centers. Representatives from the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Border Patrol, military branches and numerous public safety agencies are expected to attend.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with hiring decision-makers, learn about paid academies and training programs, participate in on-the-spot interviews and explore career pathways available to those transitioning from other industries.

Palm Beach State College officials say the fair is designed to help job seekers explore careers that do not necessarily require a traditional four-year degree and can provide a pathway into essential public service professions.

The Palm Beach State College Public Safety Job Fair is free and open to the public.
