Looking for a little luck this St. Patrick's Day? Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League thinks the pot of gold might just have four legs.
In the spirit of the holiday, Peggy Adams is hosting a "St. Pittie's Day" adoption event from Friday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 17, waiving adoption fees for all adult pit bull and pit bull-mix dogs. The promotion is designed to help these affectionate and often misunderstood dogs find the permanent homes.

Pit bull-type dogs are among the most people-oriented breeds, frequently described as devoted, playful and eager to please. Despite lingering misconceptions, many are gentle companions that bond deeply with their families and thrive with positive training and socialization. Shelter workers often call them "big lap dogs" — dogs that simply want to be close to their humans.
The Peggy Adams Adoption Center at 3200 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Potential adopters can also browse available animals online at peggyadams.org/adopt before visiting.
Palm Beach County residents should be aware that a $20 rabies tag fee applies at the time of adoption, even when the adoption fee itself is waived.
FIX-A-BULL PROGRAM
Peggy Adams extends its commitment to pit bull-type dogs year-round through its Fix-A-Bull Program, which provides free spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations and heartworm tests for owned pit bull-type dogs in the community. A limited number of appointments are available each week. To schedule, visit peggyadams.org/fixabull.
Founded in 1925, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is an independent nonprofit that provides critical services to more than 35,000 animals each year. The organization holds a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. For more information or to donate, visit PeggyAdams.org.
