What began as a simple idea to bring people together in fellowship and faith has grown into a thriving community gathering. On Saturday, Sept. 20, the women-led ministry Bibles & Blankets will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a potluck praise party at Commons Park, 11600 Poinciana Boulevard, Royal Palm Beach, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Co-Pastor Sheereeneca Cintron, who helped launch the group in 2023, described the milestone as a celebration of both “God’s faithfulness and the sisterhood that has blossomed.” Over the past year, Bibles & Blankets has hosted regular outdoor meetings, welcoming women of all ages to read scripture, share testimonies, and support one another in a casual, picnic-style setting.
The anniversary event will follow the same relaxed format that has made the group popular. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, as well as games and blankets for a morning filled with fellowship, food, and reflection. The organizers are calling it a “laid-back, joy-filled praise party” to honor the past year of growth and look forward to the future.
The group’s mission is to combine spiritual study with community bonding in an accessible, family-friendly environment. Cintron said the gatherings have provided many women with “faith, fellowship, and freedom” during a time when connection is especially valued.
Bibles & Blankets is open to anyone interested in participating, regardless of church affiliation. There is no cost to attend the anniversary event.
