SunFest returns to West Palm Beach from April 28 to May 1 after a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19.

The festival, which began in 1982, will offer a variety of music genres over its four days with more than 30 acts across three stages.

This year’s performers include AJR, Lil Wayne, Adam Lambert, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Goo Goo Dolls, Andrew Morris Band and Counting Crows. SunFest also is partnering with nonprofit 1909 to showcase local artists, including Citizen Banger, Rogue Theory and Indigo Dreamers.

Bands begin playing in the afternoon along Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway and finish up between 8:45 and 10:45 p.m., depending on the day.

The festival closes with a huge fireworks display sponsored by Related Cos.

On Friday, April 29, the TGi5k race will finish inside the festival. For a $60 registration fee, each racer not only will get to participate in the 5K run and compete for medals and awards, but also will receive a T-shirt, gain festival admission and, if age 21 or older, get a free beer. Registration for TGi5k can be found at sunfest.com/tgi5k.

The SunFest Art District, put together by the Armory Art Center, is a revolutionary art experience full of hand-selected visual works supplemented with demonstrations. The art portion of SunFest runs until 9 p.m. each day.

Approximately 70 artists and vendors are part of the Art District. SunFest attendees can immerse themselves in creativity with henna tattoos, pixie haircuts and body marbling and can contribute their own art on a large chalkboard.

For food and drink, Great Eats provides more than 115 options at its three Eatery locations, and multiple floating bars are available for people 21 and older.

SunFest opens at 5 p.m. April 28, and Citizen Banger takes the Ideal Nutrition Stage at 5:45. Regular tickets, starting at $55 for a one-day pass, can be purchased at sunfest.com/tickets. Five levels of VIP tickets begin at $130. VIP perks include waterfront view, complimentary food and drinks, backstage access and valet parking.
