SunFest returns to West Palm Beach from April 28 to May 1 after a two-year hiatus because of COVID-19.

The festival, which began in 1982, will offer a variety of music genres over its four days with more than 30 acts across three stages.

This year’s performers include AJR, Lil Wayne, Adam Lambert, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Goo Goo Dolls, Andrew Morris Band and Counting Crows. SunFest also is partnering with nonprofit 1909 to showcase local artists, including Citizen Banger, Rogue Theory and Indigo Dreamers.

Bands begin playing in the afternoon along Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway and finish up between 8:45 and 10:45 p.m., depending on the day.

The festival closes with a huge fireworks display sponsored by Related Cos.

On Friday, April 29, the TGi5k race will finish inside the festival. For a $60 registration fee, each racer not only will get to participate in the 5K run and compete for medals and awards, but also will receive a T-shirt, gain festival admission and, if age 21 or older, get a free beer. Registration for TGi5k can be found at

The SunFest Art District, put together by the Armory Art Center, is a revolutionary art experience full of hand-selected visual works supplemented with demonstrations. The art portion of SunFest runs until 9 p.m. each day.
