Van Dell Jewelers owner Jack Van Dell is retiring and closing two of the three stores in the 85-year-old family business, but not before holding a store consolidation sale at the locations in Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee Grove and Courtyard Shops at Wellington. The Wellington store is staying open.

The sale promises discounts of up to 70% on premium and distinctive jewelry from engagement rings to anklets, bracelets to earrings, and necklaces to pendants. The sale runs until Mother's Day.

Van Dell’s father, John, an immigrant from Italy, honed his craft repairing watches in New York before establishing a jewelry store in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1939. After his service in the Army, Jack Van Dell joined his father in the business.

“I’ve dedicated my life to hard work,” the 85-year-old Van Dell says about retiring. “I believe the timing is right, and I’m confident in entrusting the business to capable hands.”

Van Dell is prominent in the equestrian scene, and his passion for polo led him to relocate to Florida in the 1980s. He decided to open a store in Wellington.

Van Dell Jewelers has gained global recognition for its diverse collection of equestrian-themed jewelry, including horse-head and diamond-ring earrings, flying-mane pendants, mare and foal heart pendants, and polo-mallet hoop earrings.

Emphasizing the importance of outstanding service, fair pricing and a wide selection of top-quality jewelry, Van Dell is often seen in his stores, dressed in a shirt and tie, warmly welcoming customers.

His philosophy is simple: “Treat your customers with kindness. Ensure their happiness comes first. Treat them with respect.”

Three generations of the Van Dell family have worked in the store, serving at least as many generations of customers.

Van Dell expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support from the community and pledged that the Wellington store will maintain exceptional customer service for years to come. And while he is retiring, he hinted that he’ll occasionally visit the store.

The sale will continue through Mother's Day or until the inventory is gone. All stores are open 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. For more information visit vandell.com.
