Join Wellington for a free celebration of Mother Earth during the village’s annual Earth Day & Arbor Day event.
Attendees can learn about Earth-friendly products and watch demonstrations on environmental topics. Wellington’s public works staff will teach about tree pruning, and the Village Council will host a tree planting.
Free native seedlings will be available, and a free raffle for a red maple tree in a 15-gallon container will be among the giveaways. People also can meet Smokey Bear.
Booths will include local vendors, community partners, the Wellington Garden Club, the Wellington Art Society and the Wellington Tree Board.
The annual F.L.O.W.E.R. Awards ceremony takes place during the event. The awards — Fabulous Landscapes of Wellington Earning Recognition — recognize outstanding landscape designs and maintenance in the village.
