Wellington will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an evening of music, dancing, food and family activities from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Wellington Amphitheater at 12100 Forest Hill Blvd. Admission and parking are free.
The program will showcase Latin and Latin-inspired dance traditions through performances by Starpoint Dancesport, Venezuela Danza y Tambor and the Christ Fellowship Español Dance Team. The groups will present styles including salsa, bachata, paso doble, Zumba, line dancing and Venezuelan folk dances.
The evening will also feature mariachi music, Latin singer Adrian Blacio and an LED dance performance. A DJ will provide music throughout the celebration.
Students from Latinos in Action chapters throughout the Palm Beach County School District will participate with performances and presentations. Their involvement gives young people an opportunity to share their cultures and traditions with the wider community.
