The Village of Wellington is hosting a free community event to help families celebrate the end of summer and prepare for the school year. The back-to-school Party in the Park takes place Friday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wellington Amphitheater, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd.
The Christopher Aguirre Memorial Foundation is sponsoring the event, presented in partnership with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, which will allow children to explore emergency vehicles and meet first responders. It is designed to offer families a fun and engaging evening before school starts.
Activities include bounce houses, a trackless train, costumed character appearances, face painting, DJ music and dancing, and a prize wheel offering back-to-school items such as clear bags, school supply kits, phone wallets and portable fans. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site.
