Palm Beach County officials and community members celebrated the opening of two new multi-sport turf fields at West Boynton Park during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 6.
The new fields expand recreational opportunities and athletic programming while improving access to high-quality facilities for residents and visitors.
"This project reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, accessible recreational spaces for the community," said Jennifer Cirillo, Director of Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation. "The new multi-sport turf fields at West Boynton Park allows us to expand programming, accommodate more games and events, and ensure residents have reliable, year-round access to safe and well-maintained athletic facilities."
The conversion from natural grass to synthetic turf significantly increases field availability by eliminating the annual 10-week renovation period required for grass fields. The synthetic surface provides improved drainage, allowing for quicker return to play following rainstorms and reduces annual maintenance costs.
