The West Palm Beach Mobility Coalition (WPBgo) has announced several tools to enhance commuting options and information for residents, visitors and workers aiming to reduce car use and pollution in Palm Beach County.

The tools include WPBgo’s sponsorship of free Royale subscriptions for Palm Beach County users in the Transit app, which provides accurate transit times and real-time ride mapping.  WPBgo also has introduced a new website, WPBgo.com, which includes carpool and vanpool matching services powered by RideAmigos.

WPBgo collaborates with various stakeholders in West Palm Beach to advocate for alternatives that alleviate congestion and enhance mobility in and around downtown, fostering economic growth, saving time and simplifying daily life.

The Transit App for Car-Free Travel and Timely Rides

In collaboration with Transit, WPBgo has elevated all Palm Beach County residents and visitors to Royale status, providing access to comprehensive routing, arrival and capacity information for all transit routes and bikeshare stations. Transit allows users to compare travel options for car-free mobility. If you’re using a transit route for the first time, tap “GO” in the app, and step-by-step navigation will remind you when to get off, ensuring you never miss a connection.

The Transit app provides real-time arrival information for Palm Tran, Tri-Rail, Broward County Transit and Miami-Dade Transit, as well as real-time bikeshare availability for BrightBike and CitiBike Miami. The app’s GO function enables seamless trip linking across agencies.

As an award-winning, user-friendly urban travel companion, Transit has been tested in over 300 cities worldwide and is now partnered with West Palm Beach.

The New Website

The new WPBgo website serves as a comprehensive hub for all transportation information in West Palm Beach. Its features include blogs on travel options, and rider resources provide details on the various modes of transportation. The site also highlights transit benefits for businesses, including improved employee retention and satisfaction.

Carpool and Vanpool Matching

Accessible through the WPBgo website, the carpool and vanpool matching service powered by RideAmigos connects commuters with shared ride options for their daily travels.

Sharing a ride with at least one person can significantly reduce commuting costs. Registered carpoolers can split gas expenses and may qualify for lower car insurance premiums. Vanpooling provides even greater savings on gas, maintenance and possibly auto insurance. Carpools may use the HOV lanes on the interstate, which are typically less congested.

Carpoolers can choose how many days a week they ride together, while vanpool members can select flexible routes and schedules. Many vanpool passengers meet at centralized park-and-ride lots.
