West Palm’s Circuit adds $4 fee for trips outside city

The West Palm Beach Downtown Authority (DDA) has modified its sponsorship of the Circuit rideshare program.

As of November, any Circuit ride booked through the Ride Circuit app that starts or ends outside the city of West Palm Beach costs $4, with an additional $1 charge for each extra passenger. Rides within city limits remain free.

The revenue from the fees will be reinvested into the program.

The DDA began sponsoring the rideshare program in October 2021. The Circuit program has executed over 250,000 trips since then and peaked in September with 19,111 passengers, up 176% from September 2022.

“The rideshare service has been incredibly popular in moving people in and around downtown, and that popularity has brought longer wait times for passengers,” says Raphael Clemente, the DDA’s executive director. “Adding these low fees will help us improve the reliability that riders have come to expect from this service.”

The Circuit uses only electric vehicles, improving air quality while alleviating traffic. Circuit drivers accept tips, which are not obligatory.

The Circuit is merely one facet of the DDA initiatives to enhance downtown life and business. Other notable programs include the Downtown Clean Team, the Security Ambassadors and outreach for the homeless.

Visit www.ridecircuit.com to download the app and book a ride. The service is available seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
