Big Dog Ranch Rescue welcomes families to its Loxahatchee Groves campus for an afternoon of seasonal activities, shopping and adoptable dogs during Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 14444 Okeechobee Blvd.

Visitors can spend the afternoon exploring the ranch while enjoying hayrides, food and local vendors. A rummage sale offers bargain hunters another way to support the rescue’s work.

The adoptable dogs, however, may be the festival’s biggest attraction. Even visitors who do not intend to adopt could discover a new best friend among the ranch’s four-legged residents.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue was founded in 2008 to rescue, rehabilitate and educate until every dog has a safe and loving home. The nonprofit describes itself as the country’s largest cage-free, no-kill dog rescue and says it has saved more than 93,000 dogs.

Fall Fest offers a chance to see the mission up close and learn more about adopting, volunteering and supporting the organization. Families can shop, eat, explore the grounds and meet some of the dogs whose lives have been changed through the rescue’s work.
