The Cox Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach is preparing for a packed season of exhibits, festivals and educational programs, from aerospace exploration to spy adventures and family festivals.
“Mission Aerospace”: Through Sept. 28
The “Mission Aerospace” exhibit blends the history of aviation with the excitement of space exploration. Families can trace major aerospace milestones and dive into NASA’s groundbreaking discoveries. Interactive stations give guests a chance to learn practical skills such as plotting a flight path and reading topographic maps. Younger explorers can try out rocket and satellite simulations.
Swaptember: A Month of Shared Membership Benefits
Throughout September, Cox is partnering with the Palm Beach Zoo to offer Swaptember. Members of either organization can enjoy free general admission at both attractions. While this perk doesn’t extend to additional benefits like discounts or special programs, it’s an opportunity for families to explore two of Palm Beach County’s most popular destinations.
Coming Soon: “Top Secret: License to Spy”
Opening Oct. 12 and running through April 26, the center’s blockbuster fall exhibit, “Top Secret: License to Spy,” focuses on the thrilling world of espionage. Inspired by the fantasy of James Bond, the exhibit challenges visitors to become secret agents armed with a spy file. Participants use gadgets, explore exotic locales and solve mysteries. The program combines entertainment with education, offering an engaging way for children and adults to learn about the science and technology behind espionage.
Teacher STEM Open House: Oct. 17
On Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the center hosts its annual Teacher STEM Open House. Designed to equip local educators with tools and strategies, the event features workshops, STEM vendors and more than 80 interactive exhibits. Open to all School District of Palm Beach County educators from kindergarten through 12th grade, the day provides valuable professional development while showcasing the latest STEM resources.
Fall Family Fun Fest: Oct. 25
The annual Fall Family Fun Fest is Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored by PNC Grow Up Great, the festival includes live entertainment, a petting zoo, themed crafts, outdoor games and face painting. Attendees can enjoy seasonal snacks and drinks while exploring the Cox Science Center’s regular exhibits.
Admission and Visitor Information
General admission is $26 for adults, $24 for ages 13 to 17 and 60 and older, and $22 for ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 and Cox members are admitted free. The center, at 4801 Dreher Trail North in West Palm Beach, remains open during construction.
