Updated: Jun 6, 2022

Green Cay Nature Center west of Boynton Beach, FL.

Green Cay Nature Center & Wetlands has events planned across the park in June.

“Bird Talk and Walk!” will take place June 4 and June 18 at 9:30 a.m. The event is for all ages of bird enthusiasts and costs $3. It will begin with a presentation about Florida birds, followed by a one-hour guided tour led by a Green Cay Nature Center naturalist. Binoculars and field guides are encouraged.

“Nature Journaling” will occur June 11 at 9:30 a.m. and is $3. All participants will be taught the basics of experiencing the world around them as active members of nature by writing and observing. Writing materials will be provided if needed, though participants may bring their own.

“Night Stalkers” is Green Cay’s nighttime June event, taking place at 8 p.m. June 23. The program costs $5 and is for ages 9 and older. It will include a night boardwalk tour to observe nocturnal nature. A naturalist will guide participants. Flashlights are recommended.

“Reptiles & Amphibians” closes out the month at 10 a.m. June 25. The event is $3 and open to all ages. Florida is known for its gators, but what else is out there? Join a naturalist to learn more about the great reptiles and amphibians of Florida.

Unless stated otherwise, programs require online registration, as well as a program participation form and COVID-19 waiver.

Green Cay, Palm Beach County’s newest nature center, is atop a 100-acre constructed wetland at 12800 Hagen Ranch Road. The nature center is open Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the boardwalk is open sunrise to sunset.
