Green Market Season returns to Palm Beach County

As fall arrives in Palm Beach County, three popular green markets are preparing to welcome shoppers back with fresh produce, local flavors and plenty of reasons to spend a morning outdoors.

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket leads off the season Oct. 3, followed by the Royal Palm Beach Green Market & Bazaar on Oct. 17 and the Delray Beach Winter GreenMarket on Oct. 24. The markets offer three distinct experiences, from the West Palm Beach waterfront to the Royal Palm Beach lakeside and Delray Beach’s historic Old School Square.

West Palm Beach

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket opens its 32nd season from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Waterfront Commons and Centennial Square, 100 N. Clematis St. Admission is free.

This season’s theme, “The World, Right Here,” highlights the international flavors and traditions represented by more than 150 vendors. Shoppers can explore European pastries, Mediterranean specialties, Latin American favorites and tropical produce alongside fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, flowers, plants, and specialty products.

Live music and workshops add to the waterfront atmosphere. The Master Chef Showcase, a culinary competition, returns Nov. 14.

The new season arrives with fresh bragging rights. In April, the GreenMarket reclaimed the No. 1 spot in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice voting for the country’s best farmers markets. After winning three consecutive titles from 2021 through 2023, West Palm Beach placed second in 2024 and 2025.

The market traces its beginnings to former Mayor Nancy Graham, who envisioned a downtown gathering place after visiting public markets in Europe. When it opened with 13 vendors in November 1995, it became Palm Beach County’s first weekly public farmers market. It outgrew its original location by the end of its second season, moved to the waterfront in 2010 and now draws an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 visitors on an average Saturday.

The GreenMarket continues on Saturdays through May 22, except Feb. 6 and March 20. Parking is free during market hours in the City Center, Clematis and Sapodilla garages. The nearby Banyan and Evernia garages charge a $5 all-day weekend rate.

Royal Palm Beach

Two weeks after West Palm Beach opens its season, shoppers in the western communities will have another Saturday destination.

The Royal Palm Beach Green Market & Bazaar returns from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 17 at Village Hall, 1050 Royal Palm Beach Blvd.

Visitors can shop for produce, herbs, spices, local honey and baked goods alongside jewelry and handicrafts. Gourmet coffee, prepared foods and food trucks add to the lakeside market’s offerings.

The selection can vary from week to week because some vendors participate only on selected Saturdays.

Admission and parking are free, and leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome. The market continues on Saturdays through April 24, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s weekends.

Delray Beach

Palm Beach County’s green market rollout continues one week later when the Delray Beach Winter GreenMarket opens its 31st season from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at Old School Square, 51 N. Swinton Ave.

More than 60 vendors offer vegetables, citrus, tropical fruit, eggs, artisan cheeses, baked goods, flowers, plants and more. Gluten-free, vegan and organic selections are available, and SNAP benefits are accepted.

Opening day brings more than produce and prepared foods to downtown Delray Beach. The market’s return coincides with Halloween in Downtown Delray, turning Old School Square and the surrounding downtown into a full day of seasonal activities.

The Witches of Delray bike ride brings hundreds of costumed riders to Old School Square from 7 to 11 a.m. Trick-or-treating follows along Atlantic Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as a Halloween parade and children’s festival at Old School Square.

The Delray Beach Winter GreenMarket continues on Saturdays through May 22.
