A new grant aimed at strengthening early childhood support services will help expand outreach to families in northern Palm Beach County.
HomeSafe has received a $9,050 first-time grant from the Admirals Cove Foundation to support its Healthy Beginnings entry agency program, which serves families with children from birth to age 5. The funding will enhance services in communities including Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens and Tequesta.
HomeSafe, a nationally accredited nonprofit, provides prevention and intervention services for victims of child abuse and domestic violence, reaching more than 15,000 individuals annually across South Florida. The organization also operates one of only five specialized residential therapy homes in Florida—and the only one in Southeast Florida—focused on intensive care for vulnerable children.
The Healthy Beginnings Entry Agency serves approximately 3,000 residents each year in northern Palm Beach County, offering free developmental screenings, parent education and connections to critical support services during early childhood.
“The first five years of life are the most critical to a child’s development, and early support can make a lasting difference in their future,” says Amanda Stone, chief operating officer of HomeSafe. “We are grateful to the Admirals Cove Foundation for investing in our Healthy Beginnings Entry Agency and helping ensure that children in our community grow up safe, healthy and ready to learn.”
Through the program, HomeSafe’s multilingual team works directly with families in settings where they already receive care, including Jupiter Medical Center, childcare centers and community events. Families receive screenings for developmental delays and behavioral concerns, as well as education on safe sleep practices and referrals to additional resources.
Grant funding will also support the distribution of essential items such as portable cribs, car seats, developmental toys and food, helping to improve child safety while building trust and encouraging continued participation in the program.
“We are proud to support HomeSafe’s work with young children and families,” says Rebecca Divine, executive director of the Admirals Cove Foundation. “This investment helps strengthen the foundation for lifelong health and success.”
HomeSafe partners with a network of local organizations to expand its reach, including Jupiter Medical Center, El Sol, Hannah’s Home of South Florida and the Jupiter Police Department.
