As western Palm Beach County continues to experience rapid residential growth, Jupiter Medical Center is expanding its footprint with a second hospital to serve one of the county's fastest-growing areas.

Hospital leaders, community officials and project partners gathered June 24 to break ground on the Jupiter Medical Center Neighborhood Hospital at The Health Park at Avenir, located at the corner of Northlake Boulevard and Landstar Drive within the master-planned Avenir community.

The 53,000-square-foot hospital will feature 29 inpatient beds, four operating rooms, 24-hour emergency services, a diagnostic laboratory and imaging services.

Adjacent to the hospital, a three-story, 47,000-square-foot medical office building will house Jupiter Medical Center physicians specializing in primary care, concierge medicine, orthopedics, cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary medicine and general surgery. Both facilities are expected to open in early 2028.

Jupiter Medical Center President and CEO Dr. Amit Rastogi said the groundbreaking marks an important milestone for the independent, nonprofit health system.

"This is a proud and historic moment," Rastogi said. "Our second hospital represents a defining step in expanding access to high-quality care as western Palm Beach County continues to grow."

He said the new campus will bring advanced emergency, surgical and specialty care closer to patients while strengthening Jupiter Medical Center's continuum of care.

Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Dana Middleton said the new hospital is an important investment as the city's western communities continue to expand.

"As Palm Beach Gardens continues to grow, especially in our western communities, it's essential that health care grows alongside it, and Avenir continues to take shape as one of the most ambitious planned communities in South Florida," Middleton said.

The Health Park at Avenir is being developed by Palm Beach Gardens-based Sina Companies, with Black Diamond Construction serving as the general contractor.

Malcolm Sina, executive chairman of Sina Companies, said the project reflects the company's commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of the region's growing population.

"We're proud to partner with Jupiter Medical Center to bring high-quality, accessible care closer to families in this rapidly expanding area," Sina said.

The campus is part of the Avenir master-planned community, which has been approved for 3,650 homes along with retail, office and recreational amenities. Plans also include two additional two-story, 25,000-square-foot medical office buildings that will be constructed in a later phase.

Jupiter Medical Center is the region's only independent, nonprofit health system, serving patients throughout Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
