Business leaders, healthcare professionals and community members gathered April 29 to celebrate the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the new Alan B. Miller Medical Center, a major new healthcare facility in Palm Beach Gardens.

The seven-story, 365,000-square-foot hospital represents a nearly $430 million investment in healthcare infrastructure for Palm Beach County and is expected to become one of the region’s newest large-scale medical campuses.

Situated on a 34-acre site, the state-of-the-art facility includes 156 private patient rooms, including six suites, with additional capacity planned for future expansion as the surrounding community continues to grow.

“This is an exciting moment for our organization, for our community and for the future of healthcare,” said Gina Melby, CEO of the Alan B. Miller Medical Center.

“From enhanced surgical capabilities to thoughtfully designed healing spaces, the hospital is setting a new standard for innovation and patient-centered healthcare in South Florida.”

Hospital officials said the facility is designed to combine advanced medical technology with patient-focused design and integrated healthcare services.

In addition to expanding healthcare access, the medical center is also expected creating more than 800 jobs.

The hospital is named in honor of Alan B. Miller, founder and executive chairman of Universal Health Services, one of the nation’s largest healthcare management companies.

Since founding Universal Health Services in 1979, Miller has overseen the company’s growth into a national healthcare network with facilities across the United States, including a longstanding presence in Florida.

“The Alan B. Miller Medical Center symbolizes both the personal legacy of my father and a transformative advancement for healthcare,” said Marc D. Miller, president and CEO of Universal Health Services. “It represents the realization of his vision — grounded in access, service, resilience and community impact.”

Marc Miller said the facility is intended to serve as a destination healthcare center offering advanced technology, integrated services and a patient-centered care environment.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests toured the hospital and viewed the facility’s patient rooms, treatment areas and healthcare technology systems.

“This is a remarkable day for me and my family,” Alan Miller said. “I got into the hospital business to help people. I never intended to be the biggest; I always wanted to be the best.”

The Alan B. Miller Medical Center is expected to officially open in spring 2026.
