Two days of bacon-infused treats and smooth bourbon at the 2022 Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest raised $3,650 for a nonprofit while adding a few happy pounds.
Festival Management Group announced the funds would go to a longtime supporter of its events, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Explorer and Junior Explorer programs. These programs grant young men and women the opportunity to explore their interests in law enforcement through training, community service and recreation.
The PBSO Explorers have donated time and resources to assist the Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest as well as such other community events as the South Florida Garlic Festival and the Delray Affair.
Tournament Promotions raised the money donated to the PBSO Explorers by auctioning off items including celebrity-autographed merchandise, vacations, paintings and cruises.
Festival producer Nancy Stewart-Franczak said she couldn’t believe it as the totals came in. “We’re always looking for ways to give back to our community, so this was a no-brainer.”
The Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest enables people of all ages to enjoy artisan markets and food. While for those 21 or older, various blends of bourbon are available at this free event.
The ninth annual Wellington Bacon and Bourbon Fest is scheduled for March 25 and 26, 2023.
