The Westlake Winn-Dixie at 5060 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road in the Grove Market Shopping Center is open for business.
The Winn-Dixie team celebrated the store opening with several days of activities and giveaways. The store presented checks totaling $12,000 to Acreage Pines Elementary School, Western Pines Middle School and Seminole Ridge High School. The first 500 customers received mystery gift cards ranging from $5 to $500, and the first 100 also received a Winn-Dixie cutting board.
Winn-Dixie plans to continue celebrating with the community throughout the year.
“We are continuing our commitment to expansion throughout our home state of Florida,” said Anthony Hucker, the president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie. “Now is the time to bolster our presence in Palm Beach County and introduce our newest store in Florida’s newest city. We look forward to being a store our Westlake community can always count on.”
The expansion comes as grocery prices are soaring nationwide. In response to that inflation, Winn-Dixie announced its Down Down program last month to lower prices on more than 150 of its most-shopped items.
“We know our customers are searching for the best deals, and continuing to save money on their grocery bills is a top priority,” said Dewayne Rabon, the chief merchandising officer for Southeastern Grocers. “When our customers shop our stores, they can trust they are getting quality products at affordable prices.”
The Westlake store has a pharmacy and a consultation room for private immunizations, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The store’s liquor area features a wine chiller and a wide range of premium products.
The move to Westlake continues Winn-Dixie’s expansion across Florida, joining new stores in St. Augustine Shores, Viera, Boynton Beach, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Lakewood Ranch, Lake Mary, West Melbourne and two locations in Jacksonville.
The Westlake Winn-Dixie is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
