The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach will bring together art, food and community impact during a new fundraising event, SUPPER, set for Thursday, March 26 at 6 p.m. in the center’s gallery space.

Designed as a creative and community-focused evening, SUPPER will feature a family-style meal shared among guests in the Armory’s gallery. Organizers say the event is intended to blend fundraising with community-building while supporting local artists and nonprofit initiatives.

Each year, the Armory partners with a local artist and a nonprofit organization to support their missions through the event. This year’s partners include Palm Beach Harvest, a nonprofit that collects and redistributes surplus food to charitable organizations throughout Palm Beach County, and artist Ashleigh Walters, an award-winning former local television news anchor who now leads a video production company and explores storytelling through visual art.

Walters’ work will be featured in the exhibition “Bread and Butter,” which explores the many roles food plays in everyday life. The Armory will also present “TABLE and TOOLS,” a juried exhibition showcasing works inspired by objects used to prepare food. Both exhibitions will run March 16 through May 8, with all artwork available for purchase.

The SUPPER event itself will feature a meal prepared by local chef Richard Roberts of Culinary Flair Catering, along with beverages, a silent auction and an artist talk. Organizers say the event’s communal dining format offers a more relaxed alternative to traditional fundraising dinners while also reducing food waste. Any leftover or unused food will be collected and redistributed by Palm Beach Harvest.

“This exclusive event reminds us that creating and sharing food is a powerful way to bridge gaps and create community,” says Jill Brown, CEO of the Armory Art Center. “We look forward to partnering with Palm Beach Harvest to celebrate local visual and culinary artists while addressing food insecurity in a meaningful way.”

Tickets are sold out but you can still make a contribution to the center.

Founded in 1986, the Armory Art Center serves as a major hub for arts education and community engagement in Palm Beach County. The nonprofit organization offers more than 160 courses per term across disciplines such as painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture and jewelry-making, serving approximately 3,000 students and 12,000 visitors annually.

The Armory Art Center is located at 811 Park Place in West Palm Beach.
