Bromeliads take center stage at Wellington Garden Club Nov. meeting

ree

Bromeliads are a diverse family of tropical and subtropical plants known for their striking foliage, vivid colors, and unique way of gathering water.

The Wellington Garden Club's monthly meeting takes place Monday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Wellington Community Center. The meeting features a special presentation on bromeliads, Bromeliads: Orchids of the Tropics, by longtime local leader and horticulture enthusiast Tom Ramiccio.

Doors open for coffee and a plant raffle at 9:30 a.m. Visitors are asked to check in at the desk upon arrival, and reserving a spot is recommended by emailing membership chair Anne Hlasnicek at ideasmith@comcast.net.

Ramiccio estimates his personal collection at 7,000 bromeliads. His talk will blend practical how-to guidance with inspiration for transforming everyday spaces into lush displays.

Beyond his plant prowess, Ramiccio brings more than 40 years in marketing and public service to the lectern. He served three terms as mayor of Lake Worth, led the Greater Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce as president/CEO for a decade, and spent over ten years as marketing director for what is now Discover The Palm Beaches.
