City Oyster & Sushi Bar marks National Oyster Day on Monday, Aug. 5, with a free glass of champagne for every order of a dozen oysters and a special curated oyster menu throughout the month.
Located at 213 E. Atlantic Ave. in downtown Delray Beach, City Oyster in August presents a rotating selection of premium oysters from across North America, each chosen for its particular origin and flavor profile.
Among the offerings is the Fishing Chef, named after City Oyster executive chef Jordan Stilley. This East Coast variety features a bold ocean brine with a sweet, buttery finish, capturing the chef’s signature coastal style.
Other highlights:
· Bluepoint — A Long Island classic with a mild, subtly salty taste, this variety has graced oyster menus since the early 1800s.
· Wianno — Cultivated in Cape Cod, this cocktail-size oyster is favored for its clean, crisp, salty-sweet flavor.
· Love Shuck — From Maine’s Damariscotta River, these oysters boast a crisp, mineral-rich brine and a fruity finish.
· Irish Point — Harvested in Canada, these green-tinged oysters offer a sweet, briny start and pair well with white wines or hoppy craft beers.
· Kumamoto — Originally from Japan, this small, meaty oyster is prized for its silky texture and sweet, buttery taste with hints of fruit.
City Oyster’s oyster bar selections change regularly based on season and availability. In addition to oysters, the restaurant is known for sushi, hand-crafted cocktails and a lively atmosphere.
