The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens will host a special documentary screening and tasting event on Friday, January 30, featuring the film Come Back Anytime, a portrait of one of Tokyo’s most beloved ramen masters.
The screening begins at 7 p.m. The 57-minute documentary, released in 2021 and presented in Japanese with English subtitles, follows Masamoto Ueda, who for more than four decades has served Tokyo-style ramen to a loyal group of customers who have become close friends and part of a tight-knit community surrounding his small restaurant.
Admission is $7, with a $5 discounted rate for Morikami members.
Following the film, guests will be invited to enjoy a tasting of yuzu hiyashi ramen (cold ramen) prepared by Ramen Lab Eatery, offering an opportunity to sample a refreshing variation of the dish featured in the documentary.
The event takes place at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, located at 4000 Morikami Park Road in Delray Beach, one of Palm Beach County’s most prominent cultural institutions dedicated to Japanese art, history, and heritage. The museum’s permanent collection includes more than 7,000 Japanese art objects and artifacts, ranging from tea ceremony items and textiles to fine art, and highlights the legacy of the early 20th-century Yamato Colony in South Florida.
The Morikami Museum and Gardens are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The on-site Cornell Café is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
General admission is $18.07 for adults, $16.07 for seniors and military with valid ID, $14.07 for students with ID, and $12.07 for children ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and under and Morikami members are admitted free.
