The Norton Museum of Art's Art After Dark lineup in February blends live music, gallery access and hands-on art experiences. Held Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m., Art After Dark offers visitors an opportunity to explore the museum while enjoying performances by regional and national musicians.
Located at 1450 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach, the Norton Museum of Art is one of South Florida’s leading cultural institutions, now hosting "Art and Life in Rembrandt's Time: Masterpieces from the Leiden Collection," one of the most significant exhibitions of Dutch Golden Age painting.
Each Art After Dark evening features live music beginning in the early evening, along with docent-led gallery tours at 5 and 7 p.m., open studio art workshops from 6 to 9 p.m., and special artist tours at 8 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. The first Friday of every month is designated as Jazz Friday, spotlighting jazz-forward performances. The February series opened Feb. 6, with Helman & McCreavy.
Other performances in February include:
Feb. 13, singer-songwriter Tabitha Meeks takes the stage, bringing a sound described as “Norah Jones meets Nancy Sinatra.”
Feb. 20, Mr. Cao’s Trio, led by Chinese-American conductor and pianist Yun X. Cao, will perform a varied program that includes Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango.”
Feb. 27 with The B-Stew Quartet, one of Florida’s most innovative jazz groups, known for blending traditional jazz with contemporary R&B and soul.
Art After Dark admission is free for museum members, $10 for adults and seniors, and $5 for students with valid ID.
