Palm Beach State College marked a major milestone with the ribbon-cutting of its new Dental and Health Innovation Building, a $68 million, four-story facility that promises to reshape healthcare education and access in Palm Beach County.

The 83,954-square-foot building, located at the college’s Dennis P. Gallon campus in Loxahatchee Groves, is being hailed as a transformative step for both students and the community. Designed as a high-tech hub for immersive, hands-on training, the facility will expand educational opportunities while helping meet the region’s urgent demand for healthcare professionals.

“This building positions PBSC as the cornerstone for healthcare education in our region,” said President Ava L. Parker, JD. “It’s more than just a building — it’s a commitment to opportunity and to the wellbeing of our county.”

Inside, students will have access to technology and training tools typically found only in advanced medical centers. Among the highlights are virtual reality laboratories and an Anatomage Table, a state-of-the-art 3D anatomy visualization and dissection system.

The facility is designed to support several key disciplines that feed directly into Palm Beach County’s growing healthcare workforce. In Dental Sciences, students will benefit from a fully equipped teaching clinic, an X-ray suite, 3D imaging tools, interactive classrooms, and 3D printing capabilities for dental applications.

Surgical Services training will take place in a simulated operating suite featuring surgical tables, anesthesia workstations, touchscreen monitors, and programmable mannequins that provide realistic clinical scenarios.

A new Physical Therapy Assisting program will also launch at the facility, complete with ultrasound machines, treatment and traction tables, and exercise labs to prepare students for patient care roles.

Palm Beach State College broke ground on the Dental & Medical Services Technology Building on May 16. The facility will relocate the College’s long-standing dental program from its current home in a 60-year-old building on the Lake Worth campus into a modern, state-of-the-art space. In addition to training future dental professionals, the on-site clinic will offer the community access to affordable preventive care and serve as a center for advanced training for licensed practitioners. The project also underscores the rapid growth of the Loxahatchee Groves campus, PBSC’s newest location, which is quickly emerging as a hub for healthcare innovation and education in Palm Beach County.
