“Richard II” is returning in Palm Beach County but this time in Royal Palm Beach at Commons Park.
This is the second showing of Shakespeare by the Palms and is a collaboration between the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival and the Village of Royal Palm Beach.
“Richard II,” or “The Life and Death of King Richard the Second,” tells of the final two years of the English king’s life from 1398 to 1400. The historical play delves into the downfall of Richard II and the rise of the first Lancaster king, Henry IV.
There are four nights of shows from July 21 through July 24. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8. Admission is free although a $5 donation per adult is suggested.
This event is for all-ages and is pet-friendly for well-behaved, leashed dogs. Concessions are available at the park. Commons Park Amphitheater is located at 11600 Poinciana Blvd in Royal Palm Beach.
