Sun & Stars International Film Festival kicks off with Palm Beach County premieres

The Donald M. Ephraim Sun & Stars International Film Festival (SASIFF), presented by MorseLife, returns for its fourth season, bringing a curated selection of international films and a strong slate of documentaries to three venues across Palm Beach County.


Festival screenings will be held Jan. 25–31, 2026, at the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach; Feb. 1–5 at Hooky Entertainment Delray Marketplace; and will conclude Feb. 6 at the newly opened Glazer Hall in Palm Beach.


This weeks’s festival lineup at the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center includes Andy Kaufman Is Me, SPEAK., and Steve Schapiro: Being Everywhere.

Andy Kaufman Is Me (2025), directed by Clay Tweel, explores the life and legacy of the boundary-pushing comedian who redefined American comedy before his death at age 35. Through family stories, home movies, performance footage and reflections from figures such as David Letterman and Carol Kane, the 101-minute documentary traces Kaufman’s rise from his 1975 debut on Saturday Night Live to his unforgettable characters. The film offers an intimate portrait of an artist whose fearless, provocative style blurred the line between comedy and performance art. The Palm Beach County premiere will screen Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center, followed by a discussion with producer Shannon Riggs and director Clay Tweel.

the world’s largest oratory competition. Acclaimed as the opening night film of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, the 104-minute film captures the intensity, ambition and emotional depth of young speakers as they craft deeply personal essays on issues such as disability rights, LGBTQ identity, school shootings and family loss. Florida student Esther Oyetunji competes for a rare third national title in a competition whose past winners include Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Josh Gad and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. The Palm Beach County premiere will screen Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center.

Steve Schapiro: Being Everywhere (2025), directed by Maura Smith, offers an intimate portrait of legendary photographer Steve Schapiro through his firsthand reflections and an expansive archive spanning six decades of American cultural history. The 90-minute documentary traces Schapiro’s work documenting pivotal moments and figures—from Andy Warhol and Muhammad Ali to James Baldwin, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, Rosa Parks and Ray Charles—alongside his iconic film imagery for classics such as The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Midnight Cowboy, Chinatown and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Serving as the Centerpiece Screening of The Donald M. Ephraim Sun & Stars International Film Festival presented by MorseLife, the North Palm Beach County premiere will screen Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center, followed by an audience discussion with director Maura Smith.


Founded by Donald M. Ephraim and Terri Sriberg, SASIFF aims to bring critically acclaimed and thought-provoking cinema to Palm Beach County. Now in its fourth year, the festival has become a regional cultural event showcasing international storytelling while fostering dialogue between filmmakers and audiences.

The festival is presented by MorseLife, a West Palm Beach-based nonprofit organization serving seniors through health care, residential services and community outreach programs.
