The Wellington Garden Club will host its next monthly meeting on Monday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m. at the Wellington Community Center, 12150 W. Forest Hill Boulevard, with a featured presentation on the art and practice of bonsai.
Led by Bryan Beidleman, the program will discuss the history, symbolism, and cultivation techniques behind bonsai trees. Traditionally, bonsai trees symbolize harmony, balance, patience, and the enduring beauty of nature.

Beidleman has practiced bonsai for the past nine years and developed his expertise working at a high-volume nursery. He now maintains a personal collection of nearly 200 bonsai trees and continues to refine his techniques in potting, pruning, wiring, and styling.
The public is invited to attend. Coffee and a plant raffle will begin at 9:30 a.m. Visitors are asked to check in at the front desk upon arrival, and advance reservations are recommended. To reserve a seat, contact Wellington Garden Club membership chair Anne Hlasnicek at ideasmith@comcast.net.
Founded in 1981, the Wellington Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating its members and the public in gardening, horticulture, floral and landscape design, as well as promoting conservation, civic beautification, and youth education initiatives.
