South Florida nonprofit Her Second Chance held its springtime luncheon fundraiser on March 26 at The Addison, raising support for women in recovery from substance abuse in Palm Beach County.

The sold-out event, led by honorary chairs Marta Batmasian and Zoe Lanham, exceeded fundraising expectations for the organization's mission of empowering women through paid employment, skill-building and career development.

The afternoon began with mocktails in the courtyard beneath The Addison's banyan trees, followed by an intimate luncheon styled with lavender and spring-green accents, orchid centerpieces and dessert towers.

Attendees purchased handmade goods created by women in Her Second Chance's transitional employment program, with proceeds supporting participants' paths to independence. A program participant shared a testimonial about how the organization transformed her life.

"As someone who has the privilege of hosting so many meaningful events at The Addison, this one was especially powerful," said Lanham. "It was an honor to support an event that celebrates resilience while directly impacting the future of so many women in our own community."

The luncheon featured a presentation of the inaugural Her Second Chance Award, recognizing leaders committed to serving others. Nancy Rickard, president and board chair of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation in Boca Raton, received this year's award.

"Nancy's leadership reflects a deep belief that every life has value," said Chris Malfitano, board president. "She has provided Her Second Chance not only with resources, but presence—not only support, but partnership."
