HomeSafe has been selected as a recipient of an inaugural grant from the The Boca Raton Foundation for Charitable Giving, the newly established philanthropic arm of The Boca Raton.
The grant was presented during the foundation’s Inaugural Grant Reception on April 28 and marks the first funding cycle for the organization, which distributed more than $150,000 to 15 South Florida nonprofits focused on food security, education and the well-being of women and children across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
Funding for the grants comes from a portion of paid room-night revenue generated by The Boca Raton, one of South Florida’s most historic resorts and private clubs.
Founded in 1926, the resort is celebrating its centennial year while expanding its philanthropic commitment to the communities it serves.
HomeSafe was nominated for the grant by a Boca Raton associate who was familiar with the nonprofit’s work and impact in the community.
“The most meaningful thing about this foundation is that it started with our people,” said Daniel Hostettler, president and CEO of The Boca Raton. “HomeSafe was nominated by an associate who is part of our team every day and believes in this organization enough to put their name behind it. That level of conviction deserves to be backed.”
HomeSafe provides services to vulnerable children and families throughout South Florida, including survivors of child abuse, neglect, abandonment and domestic violence. Through a continuum-of-care model, the organization works to prevent abuse before it occurs while offering intervention, counseling and support services to those in crisis.
According to HomeSafe, its programs serve approximately 15,000 infants, children, young adults and families each year.
“We are deeply honored to receive this $25k grant from The Boca Raton Foundation for Charitable Giving,” says Matthew Ladika, CEO of HomeSafe. “This support will make a real difference for the children and families we serve every day. What makes this moment truly extraordinary is knowing that HomeSafe was nominated by someone who was once in our care and who, twenty-five years later, is now championing the mission that helped shape her future.”
Founded to support local charitable organizations, The Boca Raton Foundation for Charitable Giving focuses on initiatives that improve food security, education and outcomes for women and children throughout South Florida.
